Acqua Di Gio Profondo: Giorgio Armani takes a new plunge into the depths of the ocean
Since its very first version, Acqua Di Gio has been inspired by maritime beauty to reconnect man with his inner nature. It all started in 1996, when the couturier was inspired by the island of Pantelleria, a piece of land lost in the Mediterranean, where he liked to recharge his batteries between two creations. Today, however, Acqua Di Gio Profondo takes us much further. The story of this niche fragrance takes place on the other side of the Atlantic, between Chile and Mexico. So, what would you say to treat yourself to a refreshing puff while intoxicating yourself with the scent of this original juice signed by Giorgio Armani ?
An oceanic breath floods the bottle of Giorgio Armani
Acqua Di Gio Profondo comes in a bottle identical to that of its predecessors. Its masculinity is reflected in a simple and uncluttered form. With him, everything is a question of sobriety. The virility and thickness of its glass face more tender and generous rounded angles. Here, blue is everywhere, as if to immediately evoke the depths of the sea. “Blue is like a dense shadow that expresses sensuality. In its various shades, this liquid color gives an impression of fluidity and refined elegance, ”explains Giorgio Armani.
Acqua Di Gio Profondo, like a “call from the open sea”
On the scent side, Acqua Di Gio Profondo evokes the intensity of the seabed, their freshness and their power. The masculinity of this fragrance is first reflected in a very fresh whiff of bergamot and green mandarin. Then, these two citrus fruits are associated with cascalone and aquazone, two synthetic ingredients that evoke sea spray, marrying the freshness of water with a slight salty side. This incisive opening is then relayed by a more aromatic heart of rosemary, lavender, cypress and mastic tree. Little by little, Acqua Di Gio Profondo asserts his virility in a woody base, combining patchouli and musk for an animal, amber and mineral rendering.
Jason Morgan as a creature of the seas for Giorgio Armani
Once again, to embody the image of his perfume, Giorgio Armani called on his star muse: the model Jason Morgan. Since 2015, he has lent his image to the Acqua Di Gio collection. Here, he finds himself alone facing the grandeur of the ocean. The scene, filmed in black and white, begins in the salt lagoons of Atacama in Chile. It then continues into the seabed, before Jason Morgan finally emerges on one of the beaches of Marieta Islands in Mexico. For a more immersive experience, the advertisement is filmed at 360 °. Viewers are free to navigate the landscape as they see fit, as if they were also there, encountering all the splendours of nature, as if to better recharge their batteries.
